**About the LCCC Planning Sub Comittee **

Community Councils are statutory consultees on planning applications in their area. Presently there are several important development sites in the LCCC area which have been, or will be, up for consultation. In addition, consultation planning documents such as Structure Plans, Local Plans, etc., often need a response.

The deadlines for these responses often don't fit in with our regular monthy meetings so LCCC has delegated responsibility for its planning function to a sub-committee of interested members. The convenor of this organises any sub-committee meetings, report to the full community council and makes any written responses on behalf of the community council. The sub-committee also screens and/or respond to pre-application consultations and requests enforcement where conditions to approved applications appear to have been violated. Generally, the sub-committee does not comment on minor residential applications for alterations, unless this is likely to establish a precedent.

Although the sub-committee’s remit is usually focussed on the geographic CC area; occasionally, issues outside the area may be considered wherethere appears to be a significant impact on the CC area, The planning sub-committee is open to anyone on LCCC who expressed a special interest in planning matters.
